First results of the fx-9590, compared to i7

Anonim

AMD's new "monster", this FX-9590, which is an FX-8350 even more uploaded by laps, has been briefly analyzed by a user, giving figures close to the new Intel i7-4770K.

Nothing makes it different from the current Vishera, this FX reaches nothing more and nothing less than the 5Ghz figure (in its state of maximum Turbo) as standard, with a voltage of up to 1.55v and with a scandalous 220W TDP.

This processor, mainly intended for the OEM market, can also be found available in some stores with a price close to € 800, a very high figure to offer basically the same as its little brothers.

These FX are still based on a 32Nm GF manufacturing process and it doesn't even carry with it the revised Piledriver + cores that make up the AMD Richland (which scale so well compared to the Trinity) and that their consumption / voltage has not been revised either.

In summary, this processor only offers an update in purely CPU performance since in graphics applications it is still below the alternatives offered by Intel, and even so, it does not outperform the new Haswells in a broad way, quite the contrary.

We leave you with some interesting tests, such as Winrar, Cinebench, Aida, Fritz Chess, and those of Futuremark or X264 among others…

The tests have been carried out under an Asrock 990FX Xtreme 9 motherboard and with the Turbo deactivated, to always offer the fixed 5Ghz figure in all tests.

For our reference, the i7-4770K yields figures slightly higher than 8 points in Cinebench (slightly lower than the FX) and 4 Fps below this Fx. As we mentioned before, the performance offered in graphic applications such as 3DMark, is still below the i7-4770K that not even 5Ghz has been able to cope with the stock i7. In the benchmark that integrates Winrar, the Fx tends to be up to 1000 / kbs above the i7 and that together with Friz Chess that throws up to 2000 points more than the i7, are the two applications with a somewhat more bulky but not overwhelming performance.

Unfortunately there are no more figures and no official review of this Fx-9590 (and no appreciation for some overclocking…) so the results could favor the Fx favorably or on the contrary, be below.
