Project scorpio: the only console that will offer native 4k games
Table of contents:
Microsoft announced a few months ago its upcoming codenamed Project Scorpio console during the last E3 event. During the presentation two things were made clear, that it would have a power of 6 Tflops and that it would be the most powerful console ever created.
Project Scorpio will possess a power of 6 Tflops
The last sentence has turned out to be true, the Playstation 4 'Pro' was announced with a calculation power of 4.2 Tflops, much less powerful than the Microsoft Scorpio.
One of the big questions regarding Microsoft's new video game console (one of many) is whether it could make real 4K games work (not rescaled like the PS4 Pro case). Microsoft has wanted to be clear about the issue of resolution and how Project Scorpio will try to make the most of the new 4K televisions.
"Whatever game we're making and releasing in the Scorpio time frame, we're making sure it can natively render to 4K." They were the statements of Shannon Loftis, the manager of the Microsoft Studios division.
Microsoft wants to make sure that the power of its new product will make a clear technological difference compared to Sony's proposal and be the only one that is able to take advantage of those 4K televisions that are beginning to standardize.
At the moment little else is known about Project Scorpio, which will be released at the end of next year.
