We know that Sony is working on a new PS4K with greater power for a better operation with virtual reality and offering greater smoothness in video games. This new PS4K will have a Polaris GPU with 2, 304 cores with what will be approximately twice as powerful as the current PS4.

PS4K will use an Ellesmere-based Polaris GPU

The new PS4K will use a new APU customized by AMD in which the biggest difference from the current PS4 will be the presence of a new Polaris GPU manufactured in 14nm and with no less than 2, 304 stream processors spread over 36 Compute Units. Without a doubt a great step forward compared to the PS4 that has only 18 Compute Units and 1, 152 stream processors. With these characteristics we can affirm that PS4K is based on an Ellesmere chip with Polaris 10 architecture, the same configuration that we found in the Radeon R9 480. The specifications of this new APU continue with eight Jaguar cores at a frequency of 2.1 GHz, also a notable step forward compared to the 1.6 GHz of the PS4 CPU.

This new chip will be accompanied by 8 GB of faster GDDR5 memory to achieve a bandwidth of 218 GB / s compared to the 176 GB / s of the current PS4, another element that will help the performance of the PS4K to be noticeably superior. And finally we could see all the games running at 1080p and a solid 60 fps for great image smoothness.
