QNAP leaves us with a new release. The brand has unveiled two in- house developed Fiber Channel expansion cards: the QXP-16G2FC and the QXP-32G2FC. Dual-port Fiber Channel cards feature high-performance, reliable, secure, and energy-efficient Fiber Channel connectivity with QXP-16G2FC and QXP-32G2FC, with support for Fiber Channel connection speeds of 16Gb and 32 Gb respectively.

A branded NAS with a Fiber Channel card can be easily added to an existing Fiber Channel SAN network environment, offering businesses an affordable, high-performance backup and storage solution.

"Fiber Channel SANs are generally closed network environments that often require the configuration of expensive devices with limited deployment flexibility, " said Jason Hsu, product manager, adding that " by integrating QNAP NAS protocols With Fiber Channel, users can add a NAS to their existing Fiber Channel SAN network environment in a more affordable way than with SAN devices, while meeting the needs of applications that require low latency, a "High reliability and faster data transfer, like financial services, data centers, and the film and television industry."
Users can install a Fiber Channel expansion card in a PCIe slot on the QNAP NAS and then configure a Fiber Channel target using the QTS iSCSI & Fiber Channel application, while taking advantage of the many business features of QTS, including advanced LUN snapshot protection, automatic tiering (Qtier), SSD cache acceleration, hybrid cloud backup solution (HBS), and many other features that increase application efficiency of storage. NAS operates as a unified storage solution that offers cloud, SAN and NAS storage capabilities with better cost-effectiveness and application flexibility.
