QNAP today announced the launch of the TAS-168 and TAS-268 - two models of the world's first and only QTS-Android Combo NAS operating on both QNAP and Android ™ QTS operating systems. Both systems share the same storage database, allowing users to simultaneously access multimedia files and documents from QTS or from Android ™. With a compact mini-tower design, the TAS-168/268 fits comfortably in homes and small offices / workspaces. Equipped with an ARM® v7 1.1GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, the TAS-168 and TAS-268 supports terabytes of storage capacity and is designed as a multimedia NAS optimized for home use. Users can connect a keyboard, mouse and HDMI display to directly manage, edit and play the files stored on the TAS-168/268 via Android ™, without the need for an additional PC, and also control their multimedia experience with the included remote control.

With the TAS-168/268, users can download content and applications from Google Play ™ on Android ™, install QNAP applications from QTS, or access other application markets from QMarket. Whether enjoying 4K videos (H.265 & H.264), playing videos via streaming with Android ™ apps, using applications such as games or tools or managing files centrally, the QTS-Android Combo NAS TAS-168/268 It is an excellent option to enjoy infinite applications and multimedia functionalities.

In addition to working independently, the TAS-168/268 can also be used with other QNAP NAS to handle more applications. The RTRR / rsync functions of the QTS help to back up files from the TAS-168/268 to another NAS. With the Android ™ interface displayed via HDMI, users can use applications such as Qphoto, Qmusic and Qvideo to search media files on another QNAP NAS, or install the Vmobile application to monitor IP cameras from Surveillance Station in another NAS. The TAS-168/268 offers an easy way to create a secure personal cloud that eliminates the storage limitations and data security concerns of public cloud services. The myQNAPcloud service offers multiple remote access services so that users can conveniently access, manage and share media files on the TAS-168/268 from anywhere with a web browser. Users can also access and browse files on the TAS-168/268 using QNAP's mobile apps, including QFile, Qphoto, QMusic, Qvideo, and QManager.
