The year 2020 has been a bit hectic for AMD Radeon, as its Adrenalin controllers aren't bringing stability or major performance improvements to its current RX Navi series or older Polaris-based series. We also have to remember the issue of the RX 5600 XT BIOS at launch, with a slower version and a faster version that was released later.

Radeon Adrenalin controllers cause many stability issues

Problems with the Radeon controllers motivated thousands of users on Twitter to create the hashtag #RadeonRegret. One of the most common problems is that of the black screen.

One of the users commented that his computer with a Ryzen 5 2200G had a black screen problem that required a hard reset even after entering DDU safe mode and a new installation. The problem with the black screen happens with any Radeon graphics card, from the new RX 5000 series, to the old HD 7800, according to the testimonies collected on Reddit.

The problems can be seen in the Reddit belonging to the Radeon graphics cards and due to the number of cases, they do not seem to be just isolated cases, but something generalized that is affecting the new Adrenalin controllers and that does not only affect the RX 5000 series.

AMD will surely take care of this situation as it seems like a lot of people are fixing it themselves, although it is not guaranteed to work for everyone. According to most posts, closing the Radeon Software process in Task Manager helps with the black screen issue. Another common problem regarding inconsistent clocks can supposedly be fixed by disabling the ULPS by using MSI Afterburner.
