Radeon rx 5500m and rx 5300m: graphics for mid-range notebooks

If you follow the news regularly, this pair of Navi graphics cards may ring a bell . Apparently AMD is targeting the mid-range graphics card market and to do so they plan to roll out the Radeon RX 5500M and RX 5300M . Both will be mounted on different laptops, and we hope they offer decent performance for users not looking to play video games.

These graphics will expand the offer of mid-range notebooks and the main idea is to confront Nvidia's counterparts. On the other side of the spectrum, we have four main contenders: the GTX 1050, 1050 Ti, 1650, and 1650 Ti .
The new AMD graphics will bring the RDNA “Navi” microarchitecture, providing a considerable advantage over the competition. But, in addition, it should be noted that they will bring GDDR6 memories and frequencies significantly higher than Nvidia graphics. This is something that has not happened for several years, since it has always been the green team that has tightened the nuts of the frequency.
Luckily, for this specific case, the leaks offer results in 3DMark 11 . Although it is a somewhat obsolete and improvable test, it is a good scale to know what to expect later.
All of the tests above were tested on a Ryzen 7 laptop, so the score (even if rounded) should be fairly accurate.
On the Radeon RX 5500M and RX 5300M graphics , we only have more data from this first one and they are quite promising. Unfortunately, the Radeon RX 5300M is still a mystery.
From experience, we hope that the new graphics offer excellent performance at a price equal to or less than that of the green team. We could easily see laptops with these graphics for around € 700 - € 1000 .
