While we wait for the official arrival of the new Radeon RX 500 graphics cards, we already have the first real tests of their performance thanks to the popular 3DMark Fire Extreme benchmark, one of the main benchmarks for evaluating the potential of GPUs.

Radeon RX 500 passes through 3DMark

First of all we have the Radeon RX 580 which will be the new top of the range based on the Polaris 10 architecture, it maintains the same configuration of 2304 Stream Processors, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs of the Radeon RX 480 although the greater maturity of the manufacturing process at 14nm allows it to reach 1500MHz in the graphics core to boost power to 6.17 TFLOPs. We continue to have 4/8 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface and a speed of 8 GHz.

With these characteristics the card has been able to reach 6033 points in the 3DMark Fire Extreme test, which is a slight improvement compared to the 5845 points of the Radeon RX 480 although logically we are not facing any revolution. It will be priced at $ 199 / $ 249.

We go down one step and we find the Radeon RX 570 which is built with the Polaris 10 core cut to a total of 2048 stream processors, 128 TMUs and the same 32 ROPs. This card has reached 1, 325 MHz at its core to give a total of 5 TFLOPs and a score of 5, 419 points on the 3DMark Fire Extreme compared to 5, 191 points on the Radeon RX 470. It will also arrive in versions with 4/8 GB of memory GDDR5 with a 256-bit 7 GHz interface. It will be priced at $ 149 / $ 199.

Finally we have the Radeon RX 550 which will be the little sister of the new Polaris family with some unknown characteristics, it will arrive for a price of less than 100 euros and works without the need for additional power, making it ideal for highly efficient equipment with the Energy. It reaches a score of 1832 points compared to 2, 267 points for the Radeon RX 460.
