Lately, there is talk that AMD is preparing to launch new Polaris graphics cards manufactured at 12nm, which would arrive within a hypothetical Radeon RX 600 series. Now new information has appeared about an alleged Radeon RX 590.

Radeon RX 590 would be on the way with a Polaris graphics core manufactured in 12 nm

This new Radeon RX 590 would feature the Polaris architecture, built in 12nm to improve performance and power efficiency, but it certainly wouldn't provide a proper response to Nvidia's Turing. In favor of AMD you have the fact that Nvidia has not yet released the mid-range and low-end Turing. AMD would have decided that the improvements to these new cards are not enough to launch them in a new series.

The entry in the 3DMark database indicates that the Radeon RX 590 would have a clock of 1545 MHz, which is 205 MHz higher than the turbo clock of the current Radeon RX 580. Its 2000 MHz memory clock suggests no changes to the memory subsystem, so it is more than likely still GDDR5 based. As for performance, a 10% improvement compared to the Radeon RX 580 is appreciated when obtaining 5028 points in 3D Mark. To put us in context, the PowerColor RX 580 Red Devil has a score of 4399 points in its factory settings.

The arrival of new Polaris 30 graphics cards at 12nm would help AMD improve its situation in the market slightly, while they await the arrival of the new Navi architecture at 7nm, which should represent a great leap forward in energy efficiency compared to current nuclei at 14 nm. What do you think about the arrival of this alleged Radeon RX 590?
