AMD has announced the release of its new Radeon Software 18.2.1 drivers to offer the best support to users of its graphics cards for new PC releases.

What's New Radeon Software 18.2.1

These new Radeon Software 18.2.1 drivers prepare AMD Radeon cards for games that have just hit the market, primarily Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age for which they also add a handful of optimizations.

Furthermore, this new driver also includes fixes for some issues related to FreeSync and Radeon Chill / Overlay that were present in previous versions with Vulkan based games. Finally, some problems that were in Need for Speed Payback and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re; Birth3 V Generation are fixed.

As always AMD has given a list of the problems that are still present:

  • Radeon FreeSync may flicker during Chrome video playback. The Radeon Overlay hotkey may not show the overlay or it may cause a Radeon app to crash intermittently in some games. Radeon FreeSync can quickly toggle between minimum and maximum range when enabled causing stutters in multi-display system configurations Flicker in performance metrics overlay can be observed when Enhanced Sync is enabled on some connected Radeon FreeSync displays. You may experience random system crash after prolonged periods of use in system configurations using 12 GPUs for computational workloads. Water textures appear to be missing in World of Final Fantasy. GPU workload feature may cause a system crash when switching to Compute while AMD CrossFire is enabled. A workaround is to disable AMD CrossFire before changing the toggle to Calculate Workloads.

As always you can download them from the official AMD website.
