Raid: all its features and configurations
Table of contents:
RAID is an acronym that in Spanish we can translate as a redundant set of independent disks. This is a technology that has been used for many years on server computers to achieve higher speeds and avoid problems with disk failure. Although at first impression it may not seem very important, since it can take many years for a hard disk to give problems, if you have ten or fifteen units of these on the same server, the probability that there are problems is much higher, and it is here when this technology offers great utility.
RAID types, which one suits me best?
The operation of this technology is very simple. It uses several disks to store the information, so that they are distributed among them, instead of being stored on a single disk. With this functionality more speed is obtained, you can read and write from different drives at the same time, you will have a greater tolerance to failures, this is because the data can be replicated in exchange for a smaller available disk size.
RAID configuration has as a basic objective, the power to allow the system to continue working, even when one or more disks have been damaged.
There are four types of this technology: RAID 0, 1.3 and 5. If you need one, we can guide you with the following recommendations:

- RAID O: use this if you are only thinking about speed and if in case of errors you have no problems in recovering data.
