Raidmax Introduces Semi-Type Outdoor Chassis
Table of contents:
Raidmax today unveiled the X08, an ATX semi-tower chassis with an open design, which means that it has practically no traditional metal plates and on both sides only tempered glass protects it with some details of the chassis forming asymmetric figures.
The Raidmax X08 chassis surprises with its 'outdoor' design
Featuring a collection of stamped sheet metal bolts to tempered glass side panels, the X08 supports a standard ATX motherboard with 7 additional card slots. The motherboard tray has space for graphics cards up to 40 cm in length and cooling systems for CPUs up to 15 cm in height.
There are no drive mounts as such, and you are allowed to mount 2.5-inch drives along the spine with the motherboard tray. The only supports for ventilation are three 120mm along the top panel, allowing a 360mm x 120mm radiator to be installed. Front panel connectivity includes a pair of USB 3.0 ports and HDA connectors. The box measures 610mm x 255mm x 525mm.
The design is a novel concept that can look great on our desk, although we do not know how it will behave when it comes to repelling dirt and dust that can accumulate inside being so open design, although surely the cooling of the equipment will not be a problem.
Raidmax has not wanted to reveal its price to us, yet.
