Raspberry pi 2, 6 times more powerful and with windows 10
The brain of this new board is again manufactured by Broadcom, we are facing a 4-core ARM Cortex A7 processor (similar to what the Snapdragon 400 mounts, very popular in powerful mid-range mobiles such as the Moto G), which according to creators is approximately 6 times more powerful than the original multithreaded, although it can reach 20 in favorable scenarios for the new set of instructions. The RAM has also been doubled, and all this while maintaining full compatibility with the software already developed for the original model. The basic list of changes is the one we have named:
- BCM2836 processor with 4 ARM Cortex-A7 cores running at 900MHz (vs. 1 core at 700mhz ARM11 from previous BCM2835) 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM (double the memory) Full compatibility with Raspberry Pi 1
It will cost $ 35 (which will surely end up being € 35 in exchange for European taxes), taking the same price as the previous model, making it one of the cheapest and most powerful options for mounting a mini-PC. Another of the great novelties is that, apart from supporting Ubuntu natively (thanks to the ARMv7 instruction set) it will include Windows 10, as they say on its website "free of charge for makers" (free for assemblers).
Unfortunately, we are still without SATA ports, without USB3.0 and the Ethernet port is 10/100, but these deficiencies are undoubtedly completely eclipsed by its attractive price.
And you, what do you think? Are you going to buy it?
