Raspberry pi will receive a screen to become a tablet

Anonim

Surely you all know the Raspberry Pi, that tiny computer that captivated us when it was released a couple of years ago for everything it can offer us at its low cost. Now it wants to take one more step and offer greater possibilities of use to its owners, becoming a tablet with a touch screen.

Eben Upton, one of the founders of Raspberry Pi, showed at the TechCrunch Disrupt event, held in London, a 7-inch touch screen that can be attached to the small Raspberry Pi to turn it into a tablet. Upton has assured that the accessory had it in mind from the first day but that a release date had not been proposed. It seems that it will finally arrive in early 2015 if not before.

It is a 7-inch WVGA 800 x 480 pixels capacitive touch screen that can be attached to the Raspberry Pi to make a rather thick tablet, the Pi Pad.

It has also taken the opportunity to announce that they are working on a new A + model because the sales figures for model A have been only 100, 000 units compared to the 4 million units sold for model B.
