Razer acquires nextbit, makers of the robin smartphone
Table of contents:
Razer wants to continue expanding its business and a good way to do this is to join the smartphone market, a sector in which the Californian brand could make an appearance after having reached an agreement for the acquisition of Nextbit.
Razer could join the smartphone market
Nextbit is a smartphone company that was founded by former employees of Google and HTC, its only model has been the Robin that went on sale about a year ago and was characterized by certain space-saving features using the cloud. The Netbit team consists of a total of 30 employees who will join the ranks of Razer. This acquisition joins those of Ouya and THX so it seems quite evident that the Californian is planning something.
What Xiaomi did I buy right now?
Holders of a Robin phone can rest easy as it will continue to receive updates until 2018, what's more, Nextbit will continue to operate as a stand-alone business unit.
Perhaps very soon we will have news of the first Razer smartphone, taking into account the history of the Californian we can expect a high-end terminal with excellent features, although at a fairly high price. Will it include Chroma lighting?
