Razer has announced the availability of the Kraken X gaming headset. These are lightweight models that use memory foam ear cushions with channels that make it easy to wear glasses and an adjustable headband that Razer says are especially comfortable.

The Kraken X is one of the lightest gaming headphones in the world

The Kraken X uses an oval pad designed to fit over the ear and provide full sound insulation. On the outside of the headphones is the well-known three-headed snake mark in the center, surrounded by an oval mesh. The Kraken X was designed for long gaming sessions in mind and uses memory foam ear cushions around the ears covered in a black synthetic leather material. A padded headband with "Kraken" embossed on the top matches the frame and headphones in a matte finish.

Razer has thought about comfort and that also has to do with the weight of the headphones. The Kraken X weighs 250g / 0.6lb, which Razer says is one of the lightest gaming headsets on the market today.

In the left earphone is a flexible cardioid one-way microphone along with the cable that connects to the PC or other compatible devices (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices) via a 3.5mm analog jack. The cable length is 1.3m, which should be sufficient for most users, but not everyone.

In each ear there is a unique 40 ohm 32mm neodymium magnet driver. The frequency response is rated at 12Hz - 28kHz covering what the sound can hear and more. 7.1 surround sound is available through the software, but only with Windows 10.

The Kraken X is priced at 59.99 euros. These are available in the United States and the rest of the world throughout this month.
