Razer Naga Trinity is one of the most interesting mice of the Californian brand, under the hood we find the best optical sensor on the market so there is no doubt that we are dealing with an excellent product. However, Razer knows that this is not enough and that is why it has innovated with a modular design based on interchangeable side panels. If you want to know more about this genius we invite you to continue reading our analysis in Spanish.
First of all, we thank Razer for the trust placed in ceding the product to us for analysis.
Razer Naga Trinity technical features
Unboxing and design
Razer gives us a gala presentation as in all its products, the mouse comes in a cardboard box with the brand's corporate colors, combining a black background and an image of the mouse. On the other hand, the back we have a breakdown of all the features in several languages including Spanish.
Once the box is opened, we find a usual presentation on these products with the mouse protected in a plastic blister accompanied by the relevant documentation, a couple of stickers and the interchangeable modular panels that are one of the strengths of this mouse as We'll see later.
The Razer Naga Trinity represents the idea of the brand to innovate in a field where there is already a lot of variety so it is not easy to stand out. This mouse is made with a high quality black plastic body, it is the same material that most mice use for this reason so in this sense there is nothing new, this is not a bad thing since it is a design that works very well I have reasons to change. The mouse has dimensions of 119 mm x 74 mm x 43 mm and an approximate weight of 120 grams without the cable, which should add 10-15 grams. Razer has opted for an asymmetrical design that is optimized for the right hand and adapts to a wide variety of grip styles and hand sizes. Whether you have a palm grip, claw grip or fingertip grip, the Razer Naga Trinity will offer you good comfort.
At the top we appreciate the two main buttons next to the wheel and two additional programmable buttons, these come standard configured to change the DPI mode although we can assign many other functions thanks to the Synapse 3.0 software as we will see later.
The two main buttons have mechanisms designed jointly by Razer and OMRON to achieve the best possible quality, these promise a durability of 50 million keystrokes so we have a mouse for years. As for the wheel, it is rubberized to improve grip and offers lateral displacement.
On the left side we find the strongest point of this mouse, having many buttons in this area can be good in some situations and bad in others, depending on the game or the software we are using. To solve this problem, a modular design has been chosen that is based on three interchangeable side panels, these are joined together magnetically, making them extremely easy to put on and take off.
With this we have a panel with two buttons for situations that require great precision, and two panels with seven and twelve buttons for MOBA games and others in which we will need to have a large number of functions at hand, never better said.
The right side is free. On the upper back we find a logo that is part of the Chroma lighting system as well as the scroll wheel and the buttons on the side panels.
We move to the bottom and find the sensor, this is a PixArt PWM 3389 that is still a slightly customized version of the PWM 3360. This is the best sensor on the market with a sensitivity of 16, 000 DPI, a sample rate of 450 IPS and an acceleration of 50 G, we will not find anything better in this regard. Also in this lower part there is a small button to switch between the different usage profiles stored in the internal memory of the mouse.
Razer Synapse 3.0 Software
Razer Naga Trinity is compatible with Razer Synapse 3.0 software, a very powerful tool that will allow us to get the most out of it in a really simple way. To download it we just have to go to the official Razer website, its installation has no secrets. We emphasize that we will need a Razer account to be able to use the application, if we do not have it we can create it at the moment.
Once the application is open, it asks us to update the firmware of the product, we just have to accept and let it work for a few seconds. At this point we already have the application fully ready to use it.
Once we open Razer Synapse 3.0 we see that this application has been completely renewed. First of all we see the section to configure the 19 programmable functions that this mouse offers us at most, we can configure each of the panels separately so that versatility is maximum.
The second section corresponds to the sensor configuration. As we can see we can adjust the sensitivity of the X and Y axes independently and totally free from 100 DPI to 16000 DPI. A high DPI value allows us to make a great tour with a very small movement of the mouse so it will be especially suitable for multi-monitor configurations. In contrast, low DPI values will be ideal in games where high precision of movement is required. We can also configure ultra-polling at 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz and 1000 Hz in addition to acceleration.
We are dealing with a product with Chroma lighting, so this section is one of the most extensive within the Razer Synapse application. We are offered the possibility of configuring the lighting in color, intensity and light effects to better adapt it to our tastes. We can configure each of the zones independently.
Some of the included light effects are as follows:
-
- Wave: Swap the color scale and make a customizable wave effect in two directions. Spectrum Cycle: Cycles of all colors. Breathing: It allows us to choose 1 or 2 colors and they alternate for several seconds. Chroma Experience: Make a color combination starting from the equator of the mouse. Static: A single fixed color. Custom themes.
We continue with the calibration of the surface and the management of the energy saving options.
Finally we can create various profiles and even associate them with games and applications so that they load automatically when they are opened.
Final words and conclusion about Razer Naga Trinity
Razer Naga Trinity is a mouse that was born to differentiate itself and achieves it perfectly, its modular panels are a great added value that many users will appreciate, this means that in the same product we have a perfect mouse for games like FPS, in the ones that require a lot of precision about the buttons to press, and games in which we need a large number of buttons to assign all the functions and abilities, for example the MOBAs. But it does not only stand out in games, if you use applications such as GIMP or Photoshop every day, it will also be great to have all the most important functions at your fingertips.
Ergonomics is another aspect that has been taken care of perfectly in the Naga Trinity, its design has been thought to support the right hand perfectly and it is really very comfortable to use, the bad thing about this is that left-handed users are not going to to be able to use this mouse or they will have many difficulties to do so.
We recommend reading the best mice on the market
Its buttons are all quite silent and of very good quality, the mechanisms are all very smooth and demonstrate the care that the brand has put into its development. The wheel also has a very pleasant operation with a smooth displacement, in addition the being of four directions is an added value that is not usually seen very often.
Finally we talk about its PWM 3389 sensor, in this aspect there is nothing new to say, it is the best sensor on the market and its operation is impeccable.
Razer Naga Trinity is for sale for an approximate price of 100 euros, a figure that seems very correct given its characteristics.
