Windows 10 requirements

An important detail to keep in mind is that the requirements will be the same for all available versions of Windows. Of course, the 64-bit versions will be more demanding than those of x86 architecture, of course.

Minimum requirements

The minimum requirements in terms of hardware that a computer must meet will be the following:

• Processor or CPU: it must have a minimum frequency of 1 GHz. Its architecture must support SSE2, PAE and NX. RAM Memory: 1 GB memory capacity for 32 Bit versions and 2 GB for 64 Bit versions. Available hard disk space: the installation will need at least 16 GB to install the 32 Bit version and 20 GB for the 64 Bit version of Windows 10. Graphics card: it must support Microsoft DirectX9 or higher with WDDM 1.0 driver Screen resolution: a minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels will suffice.

Recommended requirements

Complying with the above ensures that we can install and start Windows 10 on our computer. but to ensure the proper functioning of Windows 10 the requirements that we recommend to have will be the following:

• Processor or CPU: Dual Core 2 GHz processor, supporting SSE3 or higher. RAM memory: 4 GB or greater memory capacity for 32 Bit and 64 Bit versions. Available hard disk space: We recommend a capacity of 50 GB or more, for the installation of applications and updates. Graphics card: must support Microsoft DirectX10 or higher. For games it is recommended to have a dedicated graphics card such as an Nvidia GTX / RTX or AMD RX Screen resolution : minimum resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

In order to look at the properties of our hardware we can do the following:

In all versions of Windows from Windows XP we have a command called "dxdiag" that shows us on the screen a set of specifications for our hardware.

To do this we will go to the start menu and write "Run" if we have Windows Vista, Windows 7 or 8.1.

For Windows XP we will press start -> programs -> accessories -> run.

Next, we will write in the window that appears "dxdiag".

Now we can look at the characteristics of our team. The checked boxes are the ones that interest us.

Available hard disk space

To check the available space of the hard disk we will only have to go to the "My Computer" or "My Computer" icon depending on the Windows version.

Next, we click on the hard disk with the right button and choose "Properties". It will show us the total capacity of the hard disk or partition and the available space.

Keep in mind that if we perform a new installation, the hard disk will be formatted, so we must look at the total capacity, not the available space.
