Anthem vip demo results on geforce rtx and amd vega cards
Table of contents:
Last Friday EA launched a VIP demo of the long-awaited Anthem, which is shaping up to be one of the best releases of the year. The guys from Techpowerup have taken the opportunity to make a comparison of the performance of Anthem on Nvidia and AMD on their main cards with this VIP test, something very important if you are thinking of comparing yourself to a new graph these days.
Nvidia RTX cards in the lead again
One of the most interesting points to study in this type of VIP tests of the new video games of the brands, is precisely the possibility of testing them with different graphics cards and exploring the performance that these give to a title that is yet to come out. This VIP demo was only accessible for Origin Access subscriptions, and unsurprisingly, there was no shortage of connection problems, crowded servers, performance drops and of course the typical bugs of the initial versions.
While some enjoy and explore the gameplay possibilities of Anthem, others are dedicated to carrying out mere performance tests, and this is what really interests us. Techpowerup took the moment to run the game under different GPUs from both AMD and Nvidia and thus draw a comparison of what will be the consumption of this next game. They managed to test up to eight graphics cards, the eight most current on the market, which is no small feat.
Anthem performance comparison
For this, the card drivers in their latest versions were used, namely Nvidia 417.71 WHQL and AMD Radeon Adrenalin 19.1.2 which precisely implements performance improvements for Anthem. The CPU they used was an Intel Core i7-8700K.
As expected, the Nvidia RTX bring out its Turing architecture with Ray tracing in real time and its very fast GDDR6 to position itself with its entire range above the AMD Radeon Vega 56 and 64.
Even the RTX 2060 surpasses the Radeon Vega 64 in the three main resolutions, it begins with quite a difference in 1080p resolution and ends much closer in 4K, but never exceeding the RTX 2060. We must note that, in the tests and analyzes carried out in These cards, we have always obtained a higher performance from the Vega 64 compared to the 2060, the latter being located just above the Vega 56.

Of course the 2070 and 2080 are unreachable for AMD, although it would be very interesting to have the results with the new Radeon VII and see if it faces the RTX 2080 as it is supposed to be expected. We must also consider the fact that the platform may be more optimized to work with Nvidia than with AMD, or that the drivers of these cards greatly influence the final performance.
There is no doubt that this game will be present in the database of the analyzes of new Professional Review cards as soon as it comes out, so we will see in more detail the evolution of performance in the new Nvidia and AMD with Anthem. What do you think is the reason that the Vega are so far behind in this game? What do you think is the best card in performance / price today? Tell us your opinions and if you are looking forward to this new Anthem.
