Review: antec formula 7

Antec has developed its new thermal compound "Antec Formula 7". The thermal paste incorporates tiny diamond chips in its composition. Let's see how it behaves in our laboratory.

Antec is a veteran in the manufacture of thermal compounds. A clear example is its Antec Formula 5 and 6 thermal pastes. Now it is the turn of Antec Formula 7, it is the new version with diamond particles and effective dissipation power. Formula 7 includes a small spatula to help us in its application.

The thermal paste is protected in a blister.

As we can see in the following image. It includes a small spatula and has a capacity of 4gr, which allows us 4 or 5 applications. It includes a small cap to maintain its properties after each application.

To test the actual performance of the thermal paste we are going to stress our processor with the "Prime95" number calculation program. This program is used to detect failures when the processor works 100% for long hours.

How are we going to measure the processor temperature?

We will use the internal sensors of the processor. For this test on Intel and AMD processors we will use the “Core Temp” application in its version: 0.99.8. It is not the most reliable test, but it will be our reference in all our analyzes. The test bench will be around 29º ambient temperature (summer).

In this test we will use the Corsair H60 Liquid Cooling Kit and two Phobya Nano-2G 12 PWM 12v fans. It is time to see the results obtained:

Antec Formula 7 is a thermal paste with excellent quality. Its composition includes micro diamond particles (0.0000015 cm). This design allows us a more efficient transmission.

The application of the thermal paste is simple: we press the syringe and the thermal paste comes out to our processor. Next we must spread with the spatula a thin layer on our CPU or GPU. Its high density can be more difficult to apply than with other thermal pastes. But with a little patience we get your perfect application.

We have been surprised by the results obtained in our tests. Winning at 2ºC to the Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste in full performance (FULL) and at rest (IDLE) at 1ºC.

Without a doubt it is a TOP thermal paste on the market. The price that fluctuates in online stores is € 15 for 4gr.
