That the microATX and Mini ITX small boxes are fashionable is nothing new. Every time we see more high-end equipment in small cabinets and best of all without envying anything to a conventional tower. On this occasion Antec, leader in the IT box, cooling and power supply sector, has launched its first ITX Gaming box on the market, the Antec ISK600 that allows liquid cooling and dual-chip graphics cards.

We appreciate the trust placed by the Antec team for the transfer of the product:

Antec ISK600: Packaging and exterior.

Antec does not skimp on a good presentation and extraordinary packaging to reach our home safely. The exterior of the box is dominated by its blue and yellow corporate colors. At first glance we see in the main area an image of the box referring to its USB 3.0 connection.

While in the previous part we have all the features and novelties of the box.

The Antec ISK 600 has very contained measurements of 36.8 x 25.9 x 19.5 cm and an approximate weight of 3 kg. Its structure is made of 0.8 mm steel in SECC and the external part with brushed aluminum.

On the front we have a USB 3.0 port, audio input and output, another USB but 2.0 connection, power and reset button, a strip with blue led and the possibility of installing a slim optical drive.

Brushed aluminum detail that provides an extraordinary finish.

Both sides are completely smooth and maintain the premium quality of brushed aluminum. As we can see in both images, you have small holes in the shape of a bee panel for better air flow.

We are located in the back of the box. We see that we have 2 slots for a graphics card, a 12 cm fan that draws air out, the rear plate area and an external power connector.

Antec's philosophy is to use a screwdriver as little as possible and it provides us with screws that are manageable with our fingers.

Antec ISK600: Interior.

Once we remove the external sheet we see the steel body. The graphics card will be located on the left side and the power structure on the right.

The floor we see that it has 4 wide rubber feet and

In the upper area we find a removable cabin that contains the screws, flanges and instruction manual. The two booths that we see in the photo allow us to install hard drives?

And here once out and a picture of the slim recorder adapter.

The Antec ISK600 is compatible with ITX motherboards, I have mounted an Asus Maximus VI Impact that is the top of the range for this format.

If we leave the removable hard drive bay in place we can install a heatsink up to 11.8 cm high, while if we remove it up to 17 cm.

One of the great advantages of this tower is that it allows us to install graphics cards up to 31.7 cm long. This time I have used a Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti that has plenty of space everywhere.

It is also important to note that it is only compatible with 2-slot graphics, although it leaves us a good space to leave a high-end heatsink. Direct CU II, Windfore or Lightning style .

One of the things I like the most is that it allows us to install an ATX power supply and its location is in the rear area. We must use a current thief (included with the box) to pass the energy from the rear area to the back of the cabinet.

Finally, we can see that the source comes with an anti-vibration kit for the power supply, thus avoiding this unbearable noise.

Final words and conclusion

The Antec ISK 600 is a very versatile box that complements any user's desk, work center, multimedia center (HTPC), the designer office or as a Gaming box that is its main use. We must remember that it is only compatible with ITX base plates (small size) and its structure is made of 0.8 mm SECC steel and a high quality exterior finish in aluminum.

I have fallen in love with it and it is a box that is capable of housing heatsinks for a processor up to 17 cm and graphics cards 31.7 cm long in a very small space: 36.8 x 25.9 x 19.5 cm. Allowing us the possibility of installing a 12 cm simple radiator liquid cooling kit. For example, an Antec Khüler 950 will come in great.

To do our usual tests we have opted to mount a Gamer team, an Asus Maximus VI Impact motherboard, GTX 750 Ti graphics card, high profile memory, liquid cooling and an ATX source. The results have been very good, having the haswell i5-4670k processor with just 30ºC at idle and 48º at maximum performance. A marvel!

I would have liked the box to have two cooling zones, since it only has only a 12 cm rear fan, but the results are so good that we forgave it.

In short, if you are looking for an ITX box to mount a gamer, htpc or day-to-day equipment, the Antec ISK600 is the ideal box. In addition, its price is within the reach of any pocket, since for just € 65 it can be found in online stores.
