Review: antec neoeco 620c

Anonim

Antec leader in the manufacture of peripherals, boxes and power supplies presents its new line of NeoECO C power supplies. As most important features is the integration of Active PFC, the important 80 Plus Bronze certification and a fairly quiet 12 cm fan.

The family currently consists of three models: NeoECO 450C, NeoECO 520C and NeoECO 620C. In our laboratory we have tested its most powerful version of 620W with the latest equipment.

Then we leave you the specifications of their lines. We always have to take into account the amperage of the + 12V line. In this case we have 48 amps. That we multiply it by 12 and it gives us a total of 576W. This means that we can mount almost any high-end graphics card.

Antec NeoECO 620C in pictures

As we are used to in all its products, Antec uses its corporate colors: white, black and a yellow stripe on the side. On the cover we have an image of the source with a guarantee certificate. On the back we detail all the characteristics of the power supply in 8 different languages.

The power supply is perfectly protected by cardboard and a bag to prevent dust from entering. Includes a simple but equally practical bundle, consisting of:

  • Antec NeoECO 620C power supply. European power cord. Manual and quick guide. Four screws for installation.

Detail of the power cable.

The font is visually pleasing metallic gray. On the right side we have a sticker with the specifications of the rails. Highlight the 48A in its line of + 12V 576 watts. This line is what allows stability with powerful graphics cards. While the 5V and 3.3V rails will supply up to a total of 24A.

Antec has determined in this new version of the NEO ECO series to use 120 mm fans with double ball bearings. This provides excellent cooling and extremely quiet operation, of course, we mean an active fan… no fanless or 100% passive functionality.

The back we have no news. Power connection, on / off switch and grille for smooth breathing. The base core of the source is designed by Seasonic, so we are talking about good solders, good capacitors and component mounting.

As we can see in the following two images, the wiring is not modular. This fixed system is the one that has been used throughout life. It includes a total of six molex connections, six SATA connections, and two 6 + 8-pin PCI-Express source connections for connecting to a high-end graphics card.

The length of the wiring reaches up to 56 cm for the 24-pin connector. The rest range from 67 to 85 cm;).

To check at what level our power supply works, we are going to check the energy consumption of its voltages with a Gigabyte GTX770, an i5-4670k processor and that we have occasionally had an Antec HCG 620M in hand.

Conclusion and final words

The Antec NeoECO 620C is an all-terrain power supply capable of living up to the best. It includes great features like 80 plus certification, Active PFC, a quiet 12cm fan, and excellent dissipation in its Seasonic core.

Regarding performance, we have proven that it is capable of keeping up with an Intel Haswell i5-4670k equipment in stock and a Gigabyte GTX770 graphics card. Coming in idle up to 98W and a maximum power of 372W.

This excellent performance is due to the fact that it has a single + 12V line with 48 amps. At high loads the fan starts to sound a little bit, but in idle it is almost inaudible. Converting an ideal power supply for the QuietPC.

It is already available in online stores. Its price ranges from € 85, which although it is not a modular source, we should take it into account in our next configuration.
