Antec P100

The box comes protected in a large cardboard box with a quite elegant design. As usual, corporate colors predominate: yellow and gray. Once we open the packaging we see that the box is perfectly protected with a mattress and a plastic bag that covers it to prevent the entry of dust.

As we can see in the last image, it includes a large set of screws, an instruction manual and cable ties.

The bundle is made up of:

  • Antec P100 box. Screws. Quick guide and installation manual. Flanges.

The Antec is an ATX format box with very compact measurements: 484mm (H) x 220mm (W) x 523mm (L) and weighing 8Kg. It is compatible with current market motherboard standards ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX.

It has a sober and elegant design thanks to the front door. Currently there is a single model that uses the shades of black and metal.

Both sides are completely smooth and it shows from the first moment that we have it in our hands that it is a box designed to last for many years.

The control panel is located in the upper area of the rear face. We have 2 USB 3.0 ports, another two USB 2.0 ports, audio input and output, the power and reset button.

Detail of the USB 3.0 ports.

Once we open the door, we visualize that it includes a rough layer that its function is to dampen the noise that our equipment can cause. It also includes a screen with a large filter that will repel much of the dust that circulates in our room. We also see that it includes a 120 mm fan and a second fan of the same size can be installed.

This box is designed for total silence, in the upper area we find the two available 120/140 mm fan areas covered. If we use an air dissipation or a simple liquid cooling kit the box will become a grave.

It also includes a rear filter where the power supply expels the air and 4 rubber feet that, although they are not the strongest point of this tower, fulfill their objective, damping any vibration.

The back can be differentiated in two areas. The first is the 120mm fan that blows hot air out of the system. The second where we see the 7 expansion slots, the two inlets / outlets for liquid cooling pipes and the hollow of the power supply.

Once we open the box we find that both sides have the same compound as the back to muffle the noise. At first glance the interior is painted entirely in black and the premium box touch is evident at first glance.

The small details are what make the differences between a normal box and a top box. The power supply has four stops to dampen vibrations and a small filter that we have seen in previous images.

It also has a large enough space to perform maintenance functions for heatsinks or liquid cooling kits.

Regarding the cooling system, it has a front and a rear 120mm fan, both of which are adjustable by an external control in two LOW / HIGH positions. In total we can install up to 5 fans with the following configuration:

  • 1 x 120mm front fan 1 x 120mm rear fan 2 x 120/140mm front fan (optional) 1 x 120/140mm top fan (optional)

Regarding the Antec P280, they have quite separated the gap between the motherboard and a supposed 240mm double liquid cooling kit. This is a great advantage since the two fans will not collide with the heatsinks of the motherboard.

The box has several holes called " Cable Management " that allows us to organize and hide all the wiring, gaining design and air flow. If we don't like it, it can be removed in seconds.

WE RECOMMEND YOU DFI GHF51 offers Ryzen R1000 for Raspberry Pi

It allows us to install up to 7 internal 2.5 ″ / 3.5 ″ and two external hard drives in 5.25 ″ drives. All with an easy system without the need for a screwdriver.

For the most curious, a rear view of the box. As we can see we have enough space to hide cables without bulging the cover.

And here a possible assembly with a mid-range equipment.

Final words and conclusion

The Antec P100 is a high-performance case with excellent measurements for the ATX motherboard standard on the market. We can define it as a silent box, with a sober design and features that are at the height of a high-end box.

Its strongest point is found in the soundproofing with protections on the sides, roof and top. The assembly of a range equipment is possible, since it allows us to install large heatsinks or Antec Khüler single or double radiator liquid cooling kits. I assure you that as you see the configuration of the previous image, the equipment is a grave.

Cooling is well thought out by being able to install up to five fans. Although it includes two series, one located in the back and one in the front to create a proper flow. It has small details that we liked a lot: anti-vibration system for power supply, black painted interior, cable management and the possibility of installing up to 7 internal hard drives of 2.5 ″ or 3.5 ″.

To make our performance tests we have used a high-end equipment: Asus Sabertooth Z87, an i5-4670k, a 2GB GTX 770 graphics card and 7 SATA hard drives. The assembly of the equipment has cost us about 40 minutes, which is very time-consuming and best of all without hardly using the screwdriver

In short, if you are looking for a box that will last you many years and that offers you total silence, the Antec Performance One P100 should be your box. It also has a sale price in Spain of a few € 77, which is available to any consumer.
