Review: dimastech mini

For a little over a year, boxes designed for test benches have been gaining prominence in final consumers. The Italian manufacturer Dimastech, which we consider the best manufacturer of Benchtables on the market, has sent us its new Dimastech Mini box available in various colors and with an ultra compact design.

The box arrived directly from the official Dimastech distributor in Spain: ProsilentPC. The box is protected by a cardboard box and various polystyrene sheets.

As soon as we open the box we find all the accessories.

The bundle includes:

• Screw box PCI slot adapter Power on and reset switches with cables 120mm moldable fan adapter

The supplementary 120mm adapter allows us to focus fresh air on the component that we see most necessary in the hours of overclocking. This can be installed on the left or right side. A second kit for excellent cooling can be purchased on the dimastech website.

The case comes with all the hardware you would need to install all the components.

One of the novelties of this new Dimastech box are the screws for the motherboard. Without the need to use a screwdriver for its installation, we simply must apply pressure and the plate will be installed (we will see later).

It also includes 4 rubber feet, two switches (off / on and reset) and wiring for installation.

When we remove the polystyrene panel we already find the floor of the box.

We also highlight the gap for installing / de-installing triggers and liquid cooling kits. I like the detail.

This zone allows us to install the off-on and reset buttons. And a USB port that is not included in the test bench.

It allows us to install install two devices in the 5.25 ″ bays. For example, a Rehobus and a DVD drive and up to 3 3.25 ″ drives.

This is the hole for the power supply, which allows us to install a PSU with a length of up to 22 cm. That is, 1350 and 1500w source length.

The box allows us to install the hard drives / ssd on its left side.

My favorite moment arrives, the assembly of my test equipment. Of course, I have assembled my gala team.

For testing the fans I have installed a rehobus to control the fans.

It also allows us to install up to 3 hard drives. The installation system has rubbers to avoid the vibration of the hard disk.

The wiring is organized very well in this box. I have used red extension cords that I had from previous assemblies. I recommend you first remove the rear tray, pass the wiring and then install it again.

This compact benchtable allows us to install a power supply up to 22 cm long. I wanted to use the longest we had so far the Thermaltake Toughpower 1350w. And it has entered without problems.

The box allows us to install any board on the market: ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX and XL-ATX with a maximum of 7 expansion slots. The installation is very fast and the screws accompany it.

A quick view of how to install the screws for motherboards. The system can be scary at first, but when you get the hang of it it's very fast and you forget about the classic hold.

The Dimastech Mini is a BenchTable designed in premium quality 1.5mm thick steel in Italy. Among its most important features we find its attractive and compact design. Compact design? Yes, it has very reduced measurements of 34 cm deep, 37 cm wide and 120 cm high. If we compare it with its older sister (Easy and Hard) it is the box the most compact test bench in the world and with a spectacular price.

This test bench allows us to install any motherboard on the market: ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX and XL-ATX with a maximum of 7 PCI slots. The possibility of installing any graphics card on the market and a power supply up to 22 cm long (currently none exceeds it) make it one of our favorite boxes.

As we have seen during the review I have installed my high performance test bench: i5 3570k, Asus Maximus V Formula motherboard, G.Skills Trident X memory, 1350W Thermaltake power supply and air dissipation. The installation has been quick and very simple. A great point in its favor is that we avoid the need to use tools for its assembly. In this section we highlight the special hardware for the base plate, which we simply must support the plate and apply pressure for proper installation.

Another of the strong points is the incorporation of two switches: on / off and reset inside the bundle. And one of the most interesting is the great variety of colors available: Black, Gray, White, Red, Blue and Yellow. Our box is white, I loved it.

Being a box with such a small size we have no space to install a radiator. This may be one of the buts to be improved in the near future by Dimastech, if they improve this detail and incorporate a USB 3.0 connection. I am sure it would be the best benchtable on the market. Although it is true that for 95% of the tests and tasks, air cooling is sufficient.
