We are dealing with one of the best graphics cards on the market, it is the Gigabyte GTX 770 OC, which includes one of the newest and most efficient dissipations of the moment: Windforce X3 450W.

As its name indicates, it comes with somewhat elevated clocks to increase the performance of this magnificent graphic: base clock of 1137MHz and with boost it reaches 1189 MHz, 1536 CUDA cores, 2 Giga memory at 7000 mhz, 256-bit interface, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

Gigabyte has not included the external packaging but we have looked at it online is very similar to that of the GTX6XX series. Next to the box we will find:

The first thing that strikes us is the new finish of the outer cover of the heatsink. On this occasion they have left the glossy black finish and we have switched to an aluminum structure that offers us greater resistance and easier cleaning.

Every time we see the heatsink up close we like it more. Three silent fans, new materials and a custom pcb.

Among its outputs we have 2 DVI-D / DVI-I connections, one from Displayport and the other HDMI 1.4.

For its power it uses an 8-pin connection and another 6-pin PCI Express. Attentive that we will need a good power supply to give the maximum with this beast (minimum 600w).

The blue color of the Gigabyte PCB has been changed to one of black color. This color, as you know, sticks with any component and does not force us to combine with a nice blue base plate.

In the upper right corner it has two double tabs that allow us to make an SLI with twin cards. Up to 4 GTX770s can be installed at once.

We have decided to open the guts to the graphics card. To uninstall the heatsink we must remove 7 screws. The four of the chipset and the three of the power phases.

The heatsink incorporates four thick heatpipes, the memories and the VRM area incorporate thermal pads for perfect cooling.

The PCB design is excellent and different from the reference one. The quality of its Ultra Durable components is noticeable.

We have a greater number of MOSFETs, eight power phases and PWM connection for the fans.

At the top we have an aluminum structure that allows us to improve the air flow of the graphics card. Alright Gigabyte!

The card has a total of 2GB of GDDR5 memory. They are the Samsung K4G203255FD FC28, which are "cream de la cream".

The chip is the same rehash as that of the GTX680: GK104, but the better memories, VRM and better drivers will bring out a rather interesting advantage over the previous series.

Let's not fool ourselves; there are games that can have an average of 100 FPS. It may be because the game is quite old and does not require excessive graphic resources or that the graphics is the most powerful on the market, or we have GPU systems for thousands of euros. The Gigabyte GTX 770 OC is one of the best graphics cards that have passed through my hands. Although internally it closely resembles the GTX680: the GTX770 includes the GK104 chip and presents three quite relevant improvements: memories at 7000 mhz, higher quality in VRMs and Ultra Durable technology with better components. From the factory it comes with a slight overclock that will make us gain between 2-3 fps of the rest of the graphics of the same series.

About its cooling we have to talk about the Windoforce X3 heatsink, which looks very renewed and with a much more elegant design (it reminds us of the aggressive line of the SuperOverclock versions), although the casing is made of plastic. Gigabyte promises us to cool up to 450W, so it has three silent fans (PWM), six 6 and 8mm copper heatpipes and a nickel-plated copper base to cool the GPU chip. The results are really good: 27ºC at rest and 69ºC at full capacity. In other words, a very cool graphics card.

Gigabyte includes its Guru II software that allows us to control the frequencies of the processor, memory and the voltage of the graphics card. And customize a line for the fan.

We have tested a large arsenal of games and benchmarks. We have to highlight its great score with 3dMark11 with P10365PTS and in games like Tomb Raider and Metro 2033 with 48 FPS and 37FPS with x4MSAA respectively. We recommend for installation a 600w power supply with 80 Plus Silver or Gold certification.
