Review “ivy bridge-e”; intel core i7

Anonim

For September of this year, the first “ Ivy Bridge-E ” processors are expected, the processors that come to replace the current Sandy Bridge-E, LGA 2011. O Core Extreme Edition of the third generation, “Ivy Bridge-E”, the first of the “HEDT” High End DeskTop family of products, manufactured in 22 nm.

The maximum exponent of these processors will be the Intel Core i7-4960X Extreme Edition, which comes to replace the Actual 3970X. In some unofficial tests a performance per cycle of 4.12% was shown higher than the “old“ Sandy Bridge-E ”.

In Toms Hardware, page known to all, they have made the first official analysis of the new six core Intel Core i7-4960X, we leave you some of their tests.

In them we can see that the unofficial review leaked, was not lying. Ivy Brdge-E hardly gets more performance than sandy Bridge-E. But it is not only in the performance that we have to look at, among other improvements, these processors bring quad-channel memory controller until 1866, compared to the 1600 that the 3900 Series family supported, and thanks to their manufacturing process of 22 nm, its consumption is also reduced compared to the core i7 3970X (20.47% lower on average)

It is worth going to this new processor, that is already very subjective for each individual, but it is still too early to make cabal about it. We hope to have them with us soon and face them in more tests to be able to make the right decision.
