The Nexus Low 7000-R2 box is large but short. In it we can see the basic characteristics of the heatsink and the fan.
The top of the box is red.
When we open it it has an excellent presentation. Let's keep going…
The box includes:
- Nexus Low 7000-R2 heatsink. LGA Intel and AMD anchors. CPU power cable extender. Nexus exclusive key and thermal paste.
The heatsink is equipped with a silent 4-pin fan at 500 ~ 2000 RPM.
The fan is 20mm. If the performance is not as expected we can change it for another one with LEDs or better features.
Its 4 copper heatpipes will be enough to dissipate the heat of a mid-range processor.
The base is copper. But its grill is 0.3mm aluminum

To test the actual performance of the heatsink we are going to stress the CPU with full memory floating point calculation (Linx) and prime number (Prime95) programs. Both programs are well known in the overclocking sector and serve to detect failures when the processor works 100% for long hours.
We will use the internal sensors of the processor. For this test on Intel processors we will use the “Core Temp” application in its version: 0.99.8. It is not the most reliable test, but it will be our reference in all our analyzes. The test bench will be around 20 / 21ºC ambient temperature.
We wanted to try a low-profile heatsink, you know that they are ideal for HTPC equipment. The Nexus Low -7000 R2 achieved excellent performance, rubbing shoulders with high-end heatsinks: 31º Idle and 53ºC a 2600k on a Gigabyte H61N-USB3 motherboard.
Your fan is quiet, but perhaps with other types of fans we could get more out of it or show it off (LEDs). In addition, its installation is not easy, and can take up to 20-30 minutes.
In short, if you are looking for a heatsink for your HTPC with the best quality, regardless of the price. The Nexus Low 7000 R2 is its heatsink. It can be found over € 35
