The BlackSilent series is characterized by being high-end fans at a devastating price. The small differences that we find between the XL2 and XLP models are:

  • 3 pins (XL2) - 4 pins PWM (XLP).
  • 1500 RPM (XL2) - 2000 RPM (XLP).
  • Starting voltage 4V (XL2) - 4.5V (XLP)
  • 21 dBa (XL2) - 31 dBa (XLP)

The Black Silent Fan is protected by a plastic blister. The back is cardboard and comes with all the features. At a glance we see all its content.

The box includes:

  • XL-2 1500 RPM Fan. 4 NB brand Silent Blocks.

Rear view of the fan. Good finishes and black mesh cable.

Exquisite mesh quality. The connector is 3-pin.

The same as its companion XL2. Plastic blister and cardboard back with all the characteristics.

The box includes:

  • XL-2 1500 RPM Fan. 4 NB brand Silent Blocks.

Back with the same finishes. And we see a fourth cable that is the one that controls the fan per board.

Quality black sleeving and 4-pin connector.

To test the actual performance of the fans we are going to stress the CPU with full memory floating point calculation (Linx) and prime number (Prime95) programs. Both programs are well known in the overclocking sector and serve to detect failures when the processor works 100% for long hours.

How are we going to measure the processor temperature?

We will use the internal sensors of the processor. For this test on Intel processors we will use the “Core Temp” application in its version: 0.99.8. It is not the most reliable test, but it will be our reference in all our analyzes. The test bench will be around 28.5ºC ambient temperature.

We will use the Push & Pull configuration on both models: NB-Blacksilentfan XLP and XL-2 at 12v.

We have used the results of the table already prepared in the analysis of the Corsair H60 Kit, let's see the new results:

The third review of the Noiseblocker Black Silent FAN XLP and XL-2 fans shows that quality doesn't mean being expensive. We have seen that sun BUNDLE brings the right thing: the fan and the four silent blocks. But enough for installation in our box / heatsink.

WE RECOMMEND Scythe Byakko cheap but effective heatsink

Its performance in our test bench speaks for itself: 73º and 75º in Prime 95 at 4800mhz and 1.36v, equaling other famous brands… The difference between them is its low price of € 9.20 !!! Without a doubt, it is a more economical series on the market but with fan performance of € 20. Great the Noiseblocker team.
