NOX KROM K100: Packaging and exterior.

The aforementioned comes presented in a large cardboard box. Bring a black and white image of the tower, the Krom series logo and the model.

Protection is maximum, with polystyrene and a plastic bag. In charge of avoiding any breakage due to a blow and the entry of dust.

Here is our first photograph of the box. The Nox Krom K100 has a black design with small orange details that give the series a very corporate touch.

As expected and in the case of a Gaming box, it includes a USB 3.0 connector, two USB 2.0 connections, audio input / output and the two buttons for power off and reset.

It is built with premium quality plastic and incorporates Metal Mesh grilles for excellent cooling and a sporty look. The gloss finishes are great… do you win a lot live?

As we see in the following image, the upper part is high-end. Louvers for hot air outlet vertically and orange detailing. A whole spaceship.

The left side only presents the detail of the possibility of installing a 12 or 14 cm fan to improve cooling for processing and graphics cards.

We would like to highlight the protruding area on the right side. This area is designed so that they do not interfere with the interior wiring and leave a clean and beautiful appearance.

Already in the back, we appreciate the gap so that we can install a 120mm fan and also two outlets for liquid cooling pipe.

The box is compatible with motherboards with a maximum of 7 expansion slots and the power supply hole is at the bottom.

NOX KROM K100: Interior.

When we open the lid, we see that the interior is completely painted in black. Chapó NOX! The look inside is a whole high-end box.

Here we see the 5.25 hard drive booth. It has adapters to insert the hard disk, they are designed to avoid vibrations and a quick installation.

We are surprised by the incorporation of the system without screws (screwless) in the upper bays of 5.25 ″. We have installed a fan controller and an optical drive… and in just ten seconds you have it assembled.

Separate 2.5 ″ hard drive enclosure or SSD. It allows us to install up to a total of 4. If we see that they are few, the 3.5 ″ cabinet is compatible.

The fountain is located at the bottom of the tower. It has a filter to prevent the entry of dust and anti-vibration rubber. What a level!

As we have previously commented, the box is compatible with motherboards with up to 7 PCI slots.

The NOX Krom K100 allows us to install a 120mm fan at the rear. This is not included, but we believe that a little effort on the part of the manufacturer to include it as standard… it would have been a success since we would have had a box with excellent air flow. Leaving aside the aforementioned, the compatibility with this size is great news, since most 12 cm fans are very quiet.

In the upper area we have two 12 cm fan holes that allow us to insert cold air or expel hot air. It is very well thought out, because if we fit the tower in a hole that can only expel the air towards the ceiling, it would not hit the front or rear walls.

Small grooves for wiring organization. It does not mean that because it is a modest Gaming box it cannot have these small details, which we value very much since we improve the presence / aesthetics and we would not put obstacles in the way of air flow.

Internal high speed USB 3.0 connection. Includes all the necessary hardware to install the motherboard and the most important components. We think that NOX has done a great job;).

Final words and conclusion

The Nox Krom K100 is the first Gamer box in the series. Compatible with ATX motherboards with 7 PCI slots and dimensions of 180 (width) x 418 (height) x 430 (depth) mm with 3.9kg.

Its design is very well studied and Nox has used very good quality materials, such as: structure: SPCC, the outer part with ABS plastic and Metal Mesh grilles for the front. In addition, its orange and black lines give an aggressive and pleasant look. Without a doubt, whoever sees the tower will know that the components it houses are of quality.

Its cooling capacity is amazing, thanks to the ability to install up to eight fans, offering exceptional performance. The configuration is made up of a 120 mm fan in the front area with an orange led. Plus the optional ones: Front 120mm, side 120 / 140mm, rear 120mm, and two upper 120mm. Excellent cooling!

If we have been surprised by the cooling capacity, we will be more surprised by the storage capacity. With a total of 4 bays of 5.25 and 4 bays of 2.5 ″.

We have mounted a high-end team on it: Asus Maximus VI Hero, i7 4770k and a GTX680 graphics card. The processor never went from 30ºC to idle and the graphics card from 29ºC. Once stressing the processor (prime95) has risen to 57ºC and the graphics card with MSI Kombustor to 63ºC. Once playing last generation games, the processor decreased to 51ºC and the graphics decreased to 58ºC… Nothing to envy to a high-end box;).

In the case of a current gamer chassis, current connections are a mandatory requirement. The NOX Krom K100 includes a USB 3.0 connection, two USB 2.0 connectors, and HD audio input / output. We really liked that in this model it includes the dust filter in the power supply, which thanks to it will prevent dust from entering the box.

In short, if we are looking for a showy, quality box that allows us excellent cooling and storage capacity at the best price, the NOX Krom K100 is the number 1 on the market.
