The new Urano series is thinking for users who are looking for a power supply for everyday use. Includes two + 12v rails with 24 amps each.

The NOX Urano VX 650 is presented in a cardboard box that is very pleasing to the eye. In it we can see its certification with SLI and CrossFireX, Active PFC, Green Power and silent fan.

The font is perfectly protected in bubble wrap. We would have liked it to include more protection, but the current one fulfills its objective.

The bundle includes:

• Nox Urano VX650 Power Supply. Power cable. 4 screws.

At the top we can see the incorporation of a very quiet 120mm fan.

Both sides are identical and have the model of the power supply printed.

At the bottom we have a sticker that indicates the power of the power supply with a total of: 631.5W real and two lines of + 12v 24 amps. In this case we have to pay special attention to which graphics card to choose.

Bee panel for optimal cooling, on / off switch for power supply and power outlet.

Cable management is fixed and not modular. The wiring is fully meshed and well labeled.

To check at what level our power supply works, we are going to check the energy consumption and the stability of its voltages. We have subjected her to a hard examination. We have used a latest technology processor, Intel i7 3570k, and a mid-range graphics such as the Nvidia GTX650. These are the results obtained:

The Nox Urano VX650 is a 650W (631.5W real) power supply, 2 rails of +12 of 24 amps each, ultra-quiet 120mm fan, core of the prestigious manufacturer CWT and full of protections certifications: UVP, OVP, OGP, OTP, OPP, OLP, SCP, NLO, PFP, TFP.

In our test bench we have tested with a mid-range (almost high) equipment: i5 3570K, Asus Maximus V Extreme Motherboard and a GTX650 graphics card and the results have been very good in its lines as in the consumer line: 95w at rest, cpu load with 171w and 255w all the equipment to full. We could have perfectly connected a second mid-range graphics card. Although I recommend this power supply with a GPU of the characteristics of the GTX650 or the ATI HD7770.

We would have liked it to include modular cable management, a 140mm fan or a single 48-amp rail, but for its great price of € 49 we couldn't ask for more.

In short, Nox has renewed its famous Urano line effectively, with good looks and important stability. In this way it will continue to repeat itself as the leading source for assembly of basic-mid range.
