Shuttle Barebone DS47 in front of the camera
The Shuttle DS47 is presented in a small cardboard box with a handle for transport. Both sides have the Slim PC silhouette drawn. On the right side we have all the characteristics of the computer: processor, memory, etc…
Once we open the box, we see excellent packaging with two pieces of foam and a cloth bag to protect from the ingress of dust. Includes a small box containing all accessories.
The bundle is made up of:
- Slim PC Shuttle Barebone DS47. Screws. Instruction manual. Adapters. Installation CD 65W power supply plus European power cable.
The Shuttle DS47 has very compact dimensions: 21.90 x 16.5 x 4.3 cm and a weight of less than 2kg. It comes with anchors for its support on VESA monitors.
On the front it has two USB 2.0 ports, an SD card reader, two LEDs, a USB 3.0 port and the on / off buttons.
While on the back we have the power connections, digital DVI / HDMI output, audio, two other USB 3.0 ports and two RED connectors.
Laterally we see the two supports for its anchorage in VESA monitors.
The Shuttle Fanless Slim-PC DS47 has a dual-core Intel Celeron 847 processor at 800mhz and an Intel HD 2000 graphics card. As we can see in the following image, it includes a motherboard with an NM70 chipset. The German company leaves the equipment ready for us. Install our SODIMM RAM (maximum 16GB) and mechanical hard disk or 2.5 SSD both not included.
- GL827L SD memory card reader. Serial ports controlled by MAXX3243Cs. Two RED Realtek 8111G X2 100 / 1000mb cards and support 802.11 b / g / n WLAN. Sound comes equipped with ALC662 chipset of 5.1 digital channels.
For the tests we have used 8GB of DDR3 SODIMM memory and a Samsung EVO 120GB hard drive and a WD Blue 1TB. We leave you the latest photos of its interior, the added components and its subsequent installation.

Final words and conclusion
The Shuttle DS47 is a SLIM computer (very thin) with very measured measures: 21.90 x 16.5 x 4.3 cm and a weight of around 2kg.
The idea of the R&D team of the German giant is to get the most out of a small team and 100% passive. To do this, they have used a low-consumption processor, such as the 1100 mhz Intel Celeron 840 and its low temperatures. It allows us to expand the memory up to 16GB in Dual Channel and add up to a 2.5 ”system hard drive. Although the ideal seems to me is to add a 250GB SSD and there will be a team for ideal work.
We have passed all kinds of tests. Those of software have shown that for daily use it is great: office automation, system, internet and playing movies with a measured bitrate. In the technical aspect we have verified that it is 100% silent, the only thing that we can listen to is the hard disk if it is a turntable or ourselves typing hehe.
Regarding consumption, we have verified that it is a very efficient equipment. In Stand By it barely reaches 1W, at rest 12.5W and at maximum power 20.4w.
Although personally the point that I like the most is its double network connection. Being able to convert it into a small Linux server or firewall with an interesting power and with a consumption available to very few.
Currently available in online store for a very interesting price of € 200 to € 220. Although we have to keep in mind that we must buy SoDIMM memory (at least one module) and a mechanical or solid state hard drive.
