ASUS has unveiled its ROG Strix PCI-E Riser cable with a patented SafeSlot PCI-E design and the promise that they are easily foldable and durable cables.

ASUS promises its ROG Strix PCI-E Riser cable is "foldable"; their product page says it three times. In most cases it is recommended that users avoid bending the PCI-E cables too much when assembling a PC. However, the new ASUS cable would be specially prepared to address this limitation.

If you've ever used a PCIe cable, you know how fragile they are. Yes, vertically mounted graphics cards look great, but they also require cables to be bent too much, with the risk of them breaking.

The ASUS product page also mentions that its ROG Strix Riser cable is compliant with the PCIe 3.0 x16 standard, meaning that this product may not be compatible with PCIe 4.0 devices. This has proven to be a problem for many of the early PCI-E Riser cables, especially now that AMD has PCIe 4.0 motherboards and graphics cards on the market.

The cable also comes with EMI shielding technology, to prevent electrical interference and performance degradation.
