Roku streaming stick: features, price and availability

After the launch last year of Google Chromecast, which we have talked about on our website recently, we now bring you the Roku Streaming Stick, another device not much larger than a USB memory and that connects to television through an HDMI port. In reality it is still a new version of the previous Streaming Stick that was based on MHL, in addition to being half the price. It will go on sale this April in the United States, for a price of $ 49.99 (36.24 euros).

If we remember the price of the Chromecast we will realize that the Roku is 15 dollars more expensive, and this is right: it has a large number of applications such as Netflix, HBOGo, Hulu, Amazon, Instant PBS, Youtube, etc. Another advantage with respect to the Chromecast is that it contains a very simple interface through which to navigate thanks to the command contained in the pack.

As for its design, it is a purple device that has a micro-USB port to charge it, a small reset button, a light indicator and an HDMI connector capable of playing 1080p content.

Its interface allows us to obtain a more traditional television experience, including some "send" functions from our mobile terminals (Youtube, Netflix), just as it happens with Chromecast.

Thanks to Roku we will be able to enjoy the best movies, music, television shows, games and much more on our television.

It has hundreds of free channels, subscription services (Netflix, Hulu Plus) and the possibility of renting or buying our favorite movie or program with M-GO, Amazon Instant Video, Redbox or VUDU, among many other possibilities.

As for the cost, we will not find any unpleasant surprises since there are no monthly fees; We have the possibility to choose what we pay and what we don't.

To use the Roku we only need a television that has an HDMI port and a domestic internet connection. We should not have any type of problem in its configuration since this product is accompanied by a simple tutorial.
