Rtss rivatuner server statistics: what is it and what is it for?

In this article we are going to talk about a popular program called Rivatuner . This software is usually installed together with other monitoring programs and allows us to know the performance of our equipment. Although it was originally designed to be compatible with only Nvidia graphics, today it is a universal tool.

Rivatuner

To begin, we will have to install RTSS Rivatuner Server Statistics through its main download page. There we can download different versions (currently the newest stable update is 7.2.2) . The process is simple:

• We download the compressed file We decompress the executable file We execute it We accept and confirm the different clauses

And we will have the program ready to be used. The first thing we will see to start it is that nothing happens, since Rivatuner starts minimized in the taskbar.

To start it, simply press the Rivatuner icon once . The first thing you will see will be a window similar to the following:

As you can see, quite simple, although not with few variables. In the upper right corner we have the two typical buttons of minimize and close and, below, the current version of the program.

Starting with the left column, we have the option to 'Start the program when Windows starts' and the option to 'Show data on screen' . Below we have a list with a black background with the word Global . This list is only used to switch between profiles.

We can change and create different configuration profiles so that they have different aspects and behaviors. For example: a different color, a different size, or even a different layout.

Regarding the last four buttons:

• Add / Delete are used to add or delete profiles Reset is to reset the configuration by default Setup is the configuration window

Rivatuner configuration

We are going to divide this section into two parts. On the one hand, we will talk about the configuration of a profile, that is, the right column of the main window. On the other hand, we will analyze the general configuration of the program.

Set up a profile

The 'Application Detection Levels' are used to establish the priority of the program. The higher the level, the more information you can collect, although Low is usually enough.

The following section only covers the configuration when looking for new updates.

However, the following two categories determine more advanced aspects. The following five options will change certain parameters in case there is a failure with your equipment. Normally you will not have to change any of these characteristics.

In the second tab we have fewer options.

Starting at the top we have the language, although, if you look, the main window does not adapt, only the options menus. Likewise, 'Show suggestions…' is used to put a pointer over a clickable option to display a speech bubble with help information.

Finally, the last three options that we have to comment serve for less relevant properties:

• The first changes the method by which data is projected on the screen. The second selects the degree of transparency of the main window. The third selects the size of the main window.

How do I choose the data displayed on the screen?

At no time have we told you how to edit the data displayed on the screen with some exceptions. This happens because it is not Rivatuner who edits these values, but the support program (msi Afterburner) does it .

These two programs are created so that they work in harmony together and you can download the second one on their official page.

To start editing data, we will have to go to Settings (options)> Monitoring.

The first counter will determine how often the component status is detected. It is set to milliseconds, so it will update the data every one second.

The following list is all the data that msi Afterburner can collect and to activate them we will have to press the check on the left. However, that is not enough to appear in the Rivatuner overlay.

Another negative midpoint that we want to highlight is that it is not an independent program. Being affiliated in some way with msi Afterburner , it becomes a two-program software, something that can negatively affect it.

However, even though the support program is only ancillary, on the plus side, it does provide Rivatuner with a wealth of data to display. We have access to different aspects of the CPU , GPU and RAM , both discretely and graphically, which makes this program much more useful.
