According to the latest information, NVIDIA will resume full production of the RTX 2070 GPU. A few months ago we were informed that the product had gone into EOL status with the arrival of the Super series, but NVIDIA appears to have changed its mind with the full resumption of production.

NVIDIA to resume full production of the RTX 2070 GPU

RTX 2070 is one of the most profitable RTX graphics cards out there and it makes sense for NVIDIA to try to resume production, although this also means that the Super series will not have a price cut.

The NVIDIA RTX 2070 is one of the most popular graphics cards on the market and is currently available from Amazon for a price of 500 euros or more. Given that AMD is not competitive in the high-end GPU space and the RTX 2070 remains one of NVIDIA's foundations in that segment, the change in strategy seems logical.

According to the report, the general opinion of the partners is that they will be willing to reposition the RTX 2070. It is speculated that this model could have a price cut in the near future to increase the gap between the RTX 2070 vanilla and the Super model.

The vanilla RTX 2070 features the TU106-410-A1 chip and has 2304 CUDA cores. With a power of 1620 MHz, the result is a maximum graphics power of 7.5 TFLOPs. The Super Model, on the other hand, uses a TU-104-410-A1 chip that has 2, 560 CUDA cores clocked at 1, 770 MHz for a total maximum graphics power of 9.1 TFLOPs. This gives you a 21% performance advantage.

Knowing this, the vanilla model must be relaunched with a price cut to justify that performance gap. We will keep you informed.
