Monster Hunter World has just come out on PC and the inevitable performance comparisons have not been long. Wccftech itself has carried out some game performance tests with several AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, including the RX VEGA 64 and GTX 1080, showing surprising results.

RX Vega achieves excellent results in Monster Hunter World

In the test method, they have used the 'high' setting. Apparently adjusting the game to a higher setting causes performance to drop too low without justifying it graphically.

According to the results, we can see a clear advantage for the Radeon graphics cards in all the tests, it is a pity that an RX Vega 56 could not be tested to see where it had been placed.

The processor that was used in all cases is the Ryzen 2700X running at 4.0 GHz, placed on an MSI X370 XPower Gamig Titanium motherboard along with about 16GB of G.Skill Flare X memory. On the other hand, the Nvidia drivers used were version 398.82 and in the case of the Rodeóns version 18.8.1.

RX VEGA 64 is far superior to GTX 1080 in all resolutions, 1080p, 1440p and 4K. Meanwhile, the peloton in the mid-range, with the GTX 1060 and RX 480 - 570 they remain fairly even in performance.

Why is this superiority of RX VEGA 64? It's hard to tell, but it can be a problem with Nvidia drivers. As this is a very recent game, you may need more controller-level optimization. This we will know for sure when Nvidia can release new versions in the coming weeks.
