AMD will soon introduce more budget options in its Ryzen 3000 CPU line with the arrival of Ryzen 5 3500X and Ryzen 5 3500. Both processors have their specifications and expected prices revealed by the Thai media outlet Extreme IT and appear to be very competitive against ninth-generation Intel processors under $ 150.

Ryzen 5 3500X and Ryzen 5 3500: Leaked Specs and Pricing

For some time now, the Intel Core i5-9400F has become a popular processor for low-budget PCs with a stellar price tag of $ 139.99. The processor offers 6 cores and a boost clock of up to 4.1 GHz. However, AMD would soon have its own answer to the Core i5-9400F, which would be nothing more than a Ryzen 3500 and 3500X model.

AMD is preparing two variants for the US market of less than $ 150, the Ryzen 5 3500X and the Ryzen 5 3500. Both processors have 6 cores and 6 threads, which means that there will be no support for multiple threads on either of the two chips. As such, these would be the first Ryzen 3000 models without multi-threading support.

The AMD Ryzen 5 3500X is a 3.6 GHz chip with a 4.1 GHz boost. The processor has 32 MB of cache, a TDP of 65W and a price close to 150 USD. The chip comes with 24 PCIe Gen 4 tracks and 3200 MHz memory support.

The Ryzen 5 3500, on the other hand, has pretty much the same specs and even the same 3.6 GHz base and 4.1 GHz (boost) clock speeds. The difference is that it has 16MB of cache vs. 32MB on the Ryzen 5 3600X. The result would be a small performance penalty, but we are also looking for a lower price. The chip is said to be retailing at an expected price of 4190 Thai Bhat or around $ 140. Given the specs, the Ryzen 5 3500X's final prices are likely to be $ 149.99, while the Ryzen 5 3500 could fetch $ 129.99. We will keep you informed.
