A few weeks ago, indications had emerged that manufacturers were going to allow Ryzen 9 3950X processor support on those motherboards with A320 chipsets. Now we get the information that Biostar is the first to confirm it.

Biostar confirms that the Rzen-9 3950X will work on its A320 motherboards

Motherboard maker Biostar revealed that it will extend support for the upcoming 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X to even its cheaper motherboards based on AMD's entry-level A320 chipset.

Support for the processor will be added via a UEFI firmware update that should be available on the company's website shortly, and can be downloaded from the support section of each motherboard product page.

This is great news and hopefully other manufacturers will make a similar decision. Apparently the chipset and the selected motherboards can easily support this powerful 16 core 32 wire Ryzen 9 3950X processor from AMD.

Biostar's list of motherboards with support for the 3950X includes almost its entire line of AM4 motherboards, spanning the A320, B350, X370, B450, X470, and X570 chipsets. A BIOSTAR spokesperson confirmed that this was not a typographical error on the company's website.

We will see to what extent it is convenient to use a high-end processor on a low-end motherboard and the limitations that this could bring. The Ryzen 9 3950X should go on sale during the month of November. We will keep you informed.
