Samsung has officially shown its new Exynos 9 9810 processor, a chip will bring its new S9 series of mobile devices to life. This processor is currently in mass production under Samsung's new 10nm LPP process.

The performance improvements with these generations will not only be due to improvements in the manufacturing process. The Exynos 9 9810 will have a total of eight cores that are divided into two clusters consisting of four Exynos M3 cores at 2.9GHz and four Cortex A55 cores at 1.9GHz. These cores offer architectural advantages over the Exynos M2 and Cortex X53 that have been used in the previous Exynos 8895, in addition to higher operating frequencies.

Samsung claims that this new SoC offers a 2x improvement in single-threaded performance and 40% in multi-process performance, with this we would be facing what could be the largest generational leap of Samsung to date. It is expected that this significant improvement will be achieved by combining higher operating frequencies and higher performance per clock cycle (IPC).

As for the GPU, Samsung has chosen to move to a Mali G72 (MP18) processor with 18 cores, the new internal architecture of this graphics chip allows to offer a 20% increase in performance compared to the previous generation. This new GPU also has greater capabilities in the field of deep learning, especially when it comes to security and image processing features.

Exynos 9 9810 will have to duel with the main processors of its rivals in the market, for example the Snapdragon 845 from Qualcomm that will give life to most of the high-end terminals of the new generation.
