The new Samsung PM883 is an SSD disk based on a 2.5-inch format, inside it hides the company's 64-layer N-NAND technology, which allows it to reach a storage capacity of 8 TB. This memory is backed by a 16 GB LPDDR4 cache, and a proprietary Samsung controller, to achieve the best performance and reliability. Samsung has implemented the P ower Disable PWDIS technology, which allows to maximize the energy efficiency of this device, intended to be used in large data centers, thanks to this technology, the energy efficiency of each of the disks mounted on the device can be managed. a system. This SSD consumes only 2.8W of power in reading and 3.7W in writing.

Samsung PM883 is capable of sequential read and write speeds of 550 MB / s and 520 MB / s, with 4K random rates of 98, 000 IOPS for reading and 28, 000 IOPS for writing.
