Many brands on Android have left us with their 5G phones so far this year. Although in terms of sales, there are a few brands that really stand out. Above all is Samsung, which is the one that dominates this market segment. Globally, it is estimated that 74% of 5G phones are from the Korean brand.

Samsung reigns supreme in the 5G phone segment

Some 4.3 million 5G phones have been sold worldwide. Of this number, about 3.2 million are from the Korean brand, which is also the one with the most models on the market.

They dominate the market

Samsung thus dominates the segment of 5G phones clearly. In addition, among these phones the Galaxy Note 10 5G stands out above the rest, since it would be responsible for 1.6 million units sold, half of the sales of the Korean brand. The Korean firm has launched in 2019 five compatible phones, the one with more models.

Other brands like LG are having acceptable sales, with some 700, 000 units sold worldwide this year. While other brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi or Vivo have been relegated to a somewhat lower market share.

The safest thing is that in 2020 the situation will change slightly, as more and more brands will have 5G phones on the market. So Samsung will lose market share with almost complete security. But at the moment they have a clear advantage in this market segment compared to their competitors-
