Scythe is a Japanese firm specialized in the development of air coolers for processors, its latest announcement is the Scythe Kotetsu Mark II that wants to become the model of choice for users due to its exceptional balance between price and performance.

New Scythe Kotetsu Mark II heatsink

Scythe Kotetsu Mark II is a new heatsink with a very traditional tower design, its height of 154 mm makes it compatible with the vast majority of chassis on the market, which is a big plus. We find a dense aluminum fin radiator that aims to maximize the heat exchange surface, the larger the surface, the more dissipation capacity, so this is the key in refrigeration.

This radiator is crossed by four nickel-plated copper heatpipes, the latter helps improve aesthetics and prevents deterioration of copper over time. All these heatpipes are joined together in a copper base to maximize heat transfer from the processor, since the thermal conductivity of copper is much higher than aluminum.

Best coolers, fans and liquid cooling for PC

The set is completed with the inclusion of a Kaze Flex 120 PWM fan with a size of 120 mm and which has been designed to be very quiet. This fan has the ability to rotate at a speed between 300 RPM and 1200 RPM generating a maximum air flow of 86.93 m³ / h with a noise of only 24.9 dBa.

Scythe Kotetsu Mark II is committed to a design that leaves enough space with the first expansion slot and RAM modules so that there is no problem with them.

Finally we highlight the inclusion of the new mounting system Hyper Precision Mounting System III that has been optimized to achieve the best contact of the heatsink base with all sprocessors, it is compatible with Intel LGA2066, LGA2011-3, LGA115X, LGA1366, LGA775 and AMD AM4, AM3 (+), FM2 (+), AM2 (+), FM1. Its price is 35 euros.
