Scythe is expanding its CPU cooler line with the low-profile Shuriken 2 SCSK-2000 cooler. This cooler is a smaller variant of its Big Shuriken heatsink lineup and comes as a simple top-down CPU cooler with a slim 92mm PWM fan.

Scythe Shuriken 2 is a perfect heatsink for compact gear

The Shuriken 2 fan can spin at speeds between 200 and 2, 500 RPM, which means it can run very quietly and still dissipate processors up to 100W, which is a perfectly good figure for a low-profile CPU cooler. CPU socket support is said to include AM4 and LGA115x.

The heatsink is made from a nickel-plated copper cold plate, which pushes heat towards the aluminum fins through four 6mm heat pipes. If we add all this up, we have a fridge that weighs 350 g (0.8 lbs) and that occupies a space of 93 x 94 x 54 mm (width x depth x height).

With these dimensions and performance, it is a perfect heatsink for use in small format systems with a Mini-ITX motherboard, where space is not too much for conventional air coolers.

The Shuriken 2 refrigerator is said to be out early next month. The price was not disclosed, but we hope it will be quite cheap, around $ 30 or $ 40.
