Diablo 1 'remake' and the Necromancer, the news at Blizzcon
Probably the most powerful announcement of the opening ceremony, where there were also news for Overwatch, Heartstone, Heart of the Storm and the Warcraft saga, is the announcement of the 'remake' of Diablo 1, the first game in the franchise that was released there by 1996.
This remake is actually a new content for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls and it will place us again in Tristam Cathedral, where we must descend into hell itself to face Diablo once again.
The content of this free patch is going to be called The Darkening of Tristram and it will be accessible with a portal from the old Tristam that is present in Diablo 3. In total there will be 16 floors with the setting, sounds, music and enemies similar to Diablo 1 but with the current graphics… and yes, there will be the Butcher.
In addition to this remake, a new class much loved by Diablo fans, the Necromancer, was also announced. The Necromancer will come to Diablo 3 in paid DLC format during 2017, although they have not wanted to give the price of this pack yet.
The Darkening of Tristram is going to be able to be tested next week in the 'Realms of Test' of Reaper of Souls, it will be released in early 2017 for all Diablo 3 players.
