We have new details of the eighth generation Intel Core processors, better known as Coffee Lake, and this time it is quite warm since the date on which they will be officially launched is announced, as well as the alleged prices with which they will reach the stores.

Intel will raise prices on new Coffee Lake

The launch of the Coffee Lake processors would take place on October 5, this date had already been rumored previously but it is gaining more and more strength. These new processors are characterized by an increase in the number of cores they offer so that the Core i3 becomes 4 cores and the Core i5 / Core i7 becomes 6 cores. Many users feared that this would mean a rise in prices and it seems that they were not misdirected.

Intel Core i7-8700K and Core i5-8400 appear in SANDRA benchmark

Intel will raise the prices of these new processors between 12.5% and 25% compared to the previous generation Kaby Lake. If these data are true the new Core i7 8700K could arrive for an official price of $ 400 or even something higher, let's not forget that in the Spanish market we must add 21% VAT so that its price could be quite close to 500 euros. On the other hand, the Core i5 8600K would have an official price above 300 dollars, so in Spanish stores it would be close to 400 euros. These are all rumors but it seems clear that the rise of cores will not come free, nothing surprising knowing Intel.

Firstly, the Core i7 8700K and Core i5 8600K will arrive, so we will have to wait a little longer for the rest of the models to arrive on the market. Remember that these new processors need new motherboards with the Z370 chipset to work, as they are not compatible with the Z270 and Z170 despite the fact that they all use the same LGA 1151 socket.
