Intel core i9 results leaked
Table of contents:
Lau Kin Lam of HKEPC had the opportunity to test Intel's new i9-9900K processor (LGA1151). The one that is supposed to launch next month, and which had already leaked some results a few days ago.
Intel Core i9-9900K scores 2166 points in Cinebench
The Core i9-9900K is the next 8-core 16-core CPU based on Intel's Coffee Lake Refresh architecture. The new processors (9900K, 9700K, and 9600K) are designed to be supported by existing 300 series motherboards. To get the most out of the new CPU, you need the Z370 or Z390 motherboard (for overclocking obviously). We are still weeks away from seeing the first official analyzes, but engineering samples can be seen almost everywhere. Here is the result that Lau Kin Lam obtained.
As we can see, the Intel Corei9-9900K would be faster than Ryzen 7 2700X, at least in this very specific benchmark. Lau didn't test the CPU with the single-threaded test, so I guess we have to wait a bit longer for that.
This is not the only result that leaked. Yesterday the user 'yearsoldangus' published the following photograph on Facebook, showing a somewhat lower score than Lau's, around -8%, however, it is still above 2000 points, and the CPU also worked at 5 GHz.
A few days ago, results from this and other Coffee Lake Refresh processors had also been filtered, but with GeekBench, obtaining more than 33, 000 points in the multi-core test. As we get closer to its launch, it seems that the i9 is meeting the expectations of improving performance compared to the previous generation, especially due to the increase in the number of cores.
