Seagate innov8, new 8tb external hard drive

Seagate is introducing a new large-capacity external hard drive, the Seagate Innov8, which features about 8TB of storage and the all-new USB Type-C connector.

The Seagate Innov8 is one of the first external hard drives to use the USB Type-C connection type, which allows this external hard drive to be powered directly from the USB connector instead of using external power, as is the case with most of today's transportable hard drives so here we would be saving an extra cable. Seagate has called this technology Ignition Boost ™.

This new USB Type-C connection has become popular in recent times after the new MacBook and Google Pixel began adopting it, in a joint effort between Apple and Google.

Seagate Innov8 stores up to 800 HD movies

Weighing 1.5 kilograms with aluminum materials, the 8TB Seagate Innov8 allows you to store more than 2 million songs, 4 million photos or 800 movies in HD quality, just to give some examples of what we are capable of storing in such space and with high transfer speeds thanks to the characteristics of USB 3.1.

With the desire to offer a complete package, Seagate is giving away with the purchase of the Innov8 about 200GB of storage on Microsoft's OneDrive, the famous cloud storage service, bringing with it its own software to make backup copies of this service.

This new Seagate Innov8 is starting to be sold in the United States at a price of 350 dollars together with the corresponding USB Type-C cable.
