Severux Armor R7 Black Edition Unboxing and exterior

It is the first time that we come across an article from the Spanish manufacturer. We have a cardboard box that fulfills its main function, which is to reach your destination well protected. On the cover we see the image of the silhouette of the chassis and its most important specifications, while on the sides its more detailed specifications. Once we open the box we find two polystyrene blocks and a plastic bag that prevents dust from entering the tower. The bundle is made up of:

  • Severux Armor R7 Black Edition Case Instruction Manual Internal Speaker Flanges and Screws

The Severux Armor R7 is an ATX format box that supports both mATX and ITX motherboards. Its mid-tower design allows it to have measured measures of 525 mm (H) x 226 mm (W) x 500 mm ( L ) and an approximate weight of 7 ~ 8Kg. So far we only have one color available: black with blue LEDs that offers a futuristic design and an aggressive line for the most playful. It is built on a 0.6 mm SECC steel chassis and the front is made up of a mesh mesh “metal mesh” and first quality ABS plastic. The front comes equipped with a door that houses a 5.25 ″ bay and a 3.5 ″ bay.

If we raise our sight we find in the upper area a cover that covers the fan controller, ignition, two USB 3.0 connections, another two USB 2.0. 7 in 1 card reader and audio input / output.

Once we enter the sides, we have little to highlight on the right, since it has a beveled slit that allows us to better house the wiring and the left presents an acrylic window that allows us to see the “guts” of our team at all times. Already in the back it has a 120mm fan outlet, 7 PCI expansion slots with grids and the position of the power supply in the lower area of the tower.

Finally, we find the lower area with 4 plastic legs with rubbers to prevent slipping on the floor or any surface and a grid that prevents dust from entering the lower area of the equipment.

Severux Armor R7 Black Edition Interior

Once we remove both side covers we visualize an internal structure completely painted in black and made of solid steel. I am not convinced by the finish of the cables, as they could improve this detail with all the same color. As we have mentioned, the board supports ATX, microATX and mini-ITX format motherboards. I really liked that in this price range of box if it includes cable organizers (basic) that allows us to hide all the wiring. On the power supply we will not have limitations, so another positive point.

As we can see in the images we have a lower cabin that allows us to install 3.5 / 2.5 ″ hard drives and an upper one that allows us to connect optical drives or any compatible component to 5.25 ″ bays.

The box is compatible with graphics cards with a maximum length of 390mm and heatsinks with a maximum height of 160mm. That is to say, we can mount a high-end team on it. While cooling is not far behind a tower with higher performance. We have an arrangement of two 120mm blue led fans on the bottom, another 120mm rear fan and the possibility of installing two fans in the upper area that would help to dislodge the hot air inside or, failing that, a kit of 240mm double radiator liquid cooling.

On the back of the box we have small hooks that will help us to fix the cables well, having an excellent organization inside our box.

Final words and conclusion

It is the first contact with the Spanish manufacturer Severux and its Armor R7 Black Edition case and it has been more than good. The Armor R7 is a mid-range case with good cooling, compatibility with any standard motherboard on the market and a rather attractive LED system.

Regarding the cooling, it allows us to install from heatsinks with a height of 160 mm as a double liquid cooling of 240 mm in the upper area. It is also compatible with 390mm long graphics cards, making it an all-rounder for a knockdown price with internal filters.

In addition, we must highlight the number of USB 2.0, USB 3.0 connectors, fan controller that we have in the upper area of the box and the black interior finish. As a weak point, I would have liked the "cable management" to have protective rubber bands and the internal wiring to be the same color.

Currently it can be found in online stores like Aussar for the modest price of 45 euros. As we have discussed an all-terrain box that we will fall in love with with its futuristic design.
