Qualcomm's next flagship chip will be announced in December. Thanks to a leaked invitation, the many-rumored Snapdragon 845 SoC can be announced at an event called the Snapdragon Technology Summit in Hawaii.

The Snapdragon 845 chip will be used by some of the major mobile phone manufacturers, such as Samsung, HTC, Xiaomi, and many more.

This new chip dedicated specifically for mobile phones would be manufactured in a new 10nm FinFET process, which should bring great benefits of improved performance and power consumption for the new phones that are going to incorporate them from 2018.

Like the Snapdragon 835, the new chip is said to have an eight-core build, with four ARM Cortex-A75 cores and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores in the same silicon. The chip can also be combined with the new Adreno 630 GPU, so there would also be an improvement in graphics performance.

The timing of the announcement is similar to when the Snapdragon 835 was released in 2016. Sounds like great news to Samsung as well, which is the company rumored to have gotten the first batch of Snapdragon 845 units for its flagship Galaxy S9, which would arrive early next year.
