Spotify try premium duo, with special price for couples

In the heat of battle against Apple, Spotify has begun to test a new subscription plan called Premium Duo , a kind of "reduced family plan" that includes two subscriptions to Spotify Premium at a reduced price of € 12.49 per month.

This new Spotify Premium Duo subscription model has started to be tested in Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Ireland and Poland. At the moment, the company has not yet announced when it will expand to other countries such as Spain. In fact, it has not even mentioned whether it will be exported to other territories.

The new plan is aimed at couples and partners, and provides a separate Spotify Premium account for each person, so that each can enjoy their own music without the other's tastes affecting the proposals that the system makes to the user.

Both users of the plan must live at the same address, and Spotify requires an address confirmation during the registration process. Also the Spotify Premium family plan (which allows up to six people to participate) requires users to live at the same address, but many people still use it to share accounts from remote distances with their friends, so it seems that Spotify would be trying to stop this behavior with Premium Duo.

Premium Duo comes with an exclusive playlist called "Duo Mix, " which Spotify will regularly update based on the music each user on the listening plan. On mobile devices, Duo Mix will also have two alternative versions that users can change with just a touch: "Calm" for the softer tracks and "Upbeat" for the more animated songs.

In addition, both members of the Premium Duo will be able to create and share their own playlists.
